There is a notion that the opposites always attract, the single and married, old and young, happy and distressed, introverts and extroverts all attract. It is a great myth of intimate relationships. In real life, people tend to get attracted to the one with similarities. People with the same tastes are always good together. 

Religious beliefs lists myths about dating, sex and living together. The religion insists on devoting more time to faith rather than to go for dating. They also say it’s the women’s responsibility to control a man’s sexual desires. Women shouldn’t dress up to provocate men and women should not make sexual arousal in men. The religions consider it as a sin to date a person whom you won’t marry in future. These are all some myths propagated by the religions. 

It is often said that individuals should be career oriented than wasting time on futile relationships. But job and marriage are two essential pillars of life. And both have equal importance. Being workaholic will not bring peace to your life. There must be a family for every person. Then only life becomes meaningful. 

Women shouldn’t make the first move 
It’s a myth that men don’t like the women who ask them out for the date. It’s considered that if a woman makes first move they will be less attracted to men. It’s also said that women should play hard to get. The truth is that there is no such gender difference. Every individual has the right to open their heart out and say their opinion. 

You should be attractive to go for a dating 
You must possess some qualifies to flatter your partner, you can make them fall for you only if you can sing or dance or play guitar. It can also be the personality of the person or physical attraction. It’s a myth. There is no such rule that you must be a master of something to go for a date. 

Communication between partners 
It is said that good communication is the key to a happy life. But there is the fact that discussion can also alter the strength of relationships. Your partner might not find it interesting to communicate everything. There must be some space between the partners. You must give your own time to rectify the problems in your life. There can also be situations like the communications go wrong and end up in breakups. 

Living together 
There is a myth that living together is a great idea to understand one another to find if you are perfect for each other. You can live with the person before inviting them to your life. But it is a myth. You cannot fully understand a person in the short term and sometimes even if you people be in a long-term loving relationship. There is a vast difference between living together and married life. 

You should know everything about the partner. 
The most common myth is the level of understanding between partners. It is a good thing, but it can also be irritating to know everything from the color of your partner’s toothpaste to who all he or she talks to, how they spend their leisure time etc. There should be a space in every relationship. Both are different individuals. Be loving, and there is no need to know everything about them, that is the sign of a healthy relationship. 

Women are romantic than men 
It is a myth prevailing since ages. The films and literature also convey that women are more romantic than men. But the truth is that there are men who are more romantic than women. Sometimes both the couples will be equally passionate to each other. 

It is said that the arguments will end up in a breakup. Conflicts are part of every relationship. Both the partners come from different situations, etc. There will undoubtedly be differences in opinion and disagreements. It is very common in every relationship. You must find a solution to your problems. And that is the best thing to do in a relationship. All fights won’t end up in breakups. You should find the reason behind the difference in opinions and work on it until everything is fine.
